Design Tips

Before you decide to take on all the design work by yourself, it's worth noting that Tapit provides a complimentary creative in-house design service. All you need to do is forward us your logo, desired design or even your Brand Guidelines, and our team of creatives will handle the rest. We'll send you a visual proof ready for your approval and once we have sign off you are one step away from receiving your Tapit card. If you wish to design your cards before uploading them to Tapit, you'll need familiarity with graphic design tools. A certain level of technical understanding is necessary to use our templates and to save your designs in the optimal format for print. But, if you're already a design professional, you're likely proficient in these tasks Now the techy part…
  1. Use High-Resolution Images: When you're creating artwork for print, you'll need to use high-resolution images. These should be at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) for the best results. Low-resolution images may appear pixelated or blurred when printed.
  2. Consider Color Profiles: Design your artwork in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key/Black) color mode, not RGB (Red, Green, and Blue). CMYK is the standard for print, while RGB is used for digital displays. This difference can impact how your colors appear when printed.
  3. Dimensions: All are cards are sized (55 x 85mm) and our print capabilities allow us to print edge to edge.
  4. Bleeds and Safety Margins: A bleed area of 3mm allows your design to print right to the edge of the card. Without it, you may end up with white borders. Additionally, remember to keep all critical content within the safety margins. Anything placed too close to the edge of your design may be cut off during the printing process.
  5. File Format: Our Studio can except AI, INDD, JPEG, PDF, PNG, PSD and SVG files. Please supply as Vector PDF’s if possible.
  6. Font and Size: Use readable fonts no lower than 8pt and a line weight of 0.5pt especially for important information. Small or overly decorative fonts can be difficult to read in print.
